Nestled between the Giriama village of Fumbini and the beautiful emerald waters of Kilifi Creek, is Distant Relatives Ecolodge. This is the place we have chosen for our digital nomad program. The philosophy of Distant Relatives has always been to work around nature, rather than making nature work around us. Caring for the environment, supporting the local community, the amazing location and their co-working space made us decide to host the Impact Nomads program here.
All of their lodging was built with love and care and with the most environmentally friendly materials they could think of. The showers feed into lemongrass, banana, papaya, passion and moringa trees, the toilets are built with recycled materials and produce fantastic natural fertilizer for the garden, and the atmosphere is one of sustainability and natural living.
Wake up to the smell of local Kenyan coffee and go to bed after a full plate of delicious, healthy food. There are various accommodation options from dorms, private rooms to beautifully designed banda’s.
